Stoke City super fan Gareth Hughes is on the road to Wembley – and he’s sure to stand out from the crowd as he travels to watch his football heroes in the FA Cup Final.
Gareth has had his car professionally wrapped in Stoke City’s colours for the club’s biggest match in decades as they take on Manchester City on Saturday (May 14).
It’s his tribute to the club which he has devoted much of his life to following for the past 35 years as the current team stands on the brink of Wembley glory. Friend Tim Andrews, managing director of Birmingham-based signs and graphics experts Hollywood Monster, agreed to wrap Gareth’s VW Touareg 4×4 after seeing his own club – Birmingham City – celebrate victory in the Carling Cup final.
Gareth’s love affair with The Potters includes:
Gareth, the 39-year-old managing director of Stone-based cosmetics wholesale company Beauty Distribution, said: “The car looks absolutely stunning thanks to Hollywood Monster and I know we’re gong to get a great reception from fellow Stoke fans as we drive to Wembley. After 35 years of fairly mediocre football Stoke are now competing at the very highest level and this is my tribute to them for our big day. The semi-final win over Bolton was amazing but nothing can compare to watching your team play in the world’s best known cup competition.”
Tim, managing director of Birmingham-based Hollywood Monster, said: “Having tasted Wembley glory with Birmingham in the Carling Cup, I was more than happy to help Gareth celebrate Stoke’s FA Cup appearance in style. He’s always been completely devoted to the club through all its ups and downs so it is fantastic that they are now doing well in the Premier League and have a great chance to win the FA Cup. Our eye-catching design will turn more than a few heads as he’s driving down to Wembley.”
The company has invested heavily in state-of-the-art printing technology enabling it to produce enormous banners and advertising hoardings at high-profile sites including sports stadiums, festivals, rock and pop concerts, shopping centres and property developments.
