Hollywood Monster print colossal Sky banner
The Hollywood Monster team have made their own history by manufacturing their largest ever road side banner since the amalgamation of Hollywood Signs and Monster Digital.
The Sky banner which was commissioned through Big Sky Banners was over 1000 sqm in size and is viewed by around 150,000 drivers per day on the M6. The banner took 4 days to manufacture and used over 200m of rope and nearly 400 eyelets, weighing in excess of 350kg.
Simon McKenzie commented ‘We were delighted to work with Big Sky Banners on such a high profile advertising site. The M6 Walsall site is one of the largest banner sites in the country and with such a prominent location on the southbound carriageway of the M6 towards Birmingham, thousands of passing motorists will see this every day for the next three weeks.’
Hollywood Monster and Big Sky Banners also work together on large structural advertising schemes, such as a recently completed 280m x 4m hoarding in Birmingham city centre surrounding the new Library scheme.

Leicester Tigers Stand Re-brand
Hollywood Monster recently manufactured and installed the high level corporate signage for Goldsmiths, in time for the new rugby 2010/11 season.
Goldsmiths have replaced Alliance and Leicester as stand sponsors for the season and as such required signage that will withstand the elements for the duration of the season 30metres above ground
A full team of installers, abseilers and site officials battled strong winds over a period of 7 days to install the roof hoarding that measured 70 metres overall x 2m high. Each panel was hoisted one by one onto the roof and fitted by the abseiling crew.
Project Manager Patrick Perkins commented ‘whilst the winds caused the abseilers a little difficulty we managed to get the hoarding up in a timely fashion’.
The Leicester Tigers re-brand also included a series of banners and built up lettering which was also completed within the same period.
This project is one of many to be installed to various sporting arenas across the UK this year. For more information please contact Tim Andrews on 07774 100013.
Hollywood monster is chosen to supply signage overlooking the busiest motorway junction in the Midlands
Hollywood Monster have manufactured and installed 2m high lettering which sits proudly overlooking the M6 and M5 junction in Walsall onto the premises of Vision Paper and board Ltd adjacent to the famous RAC building.
Hollywood Monster was chosen ahead of competition to supply the high profile signage to the factory facade due to the experience demonstrated in large format installations at prestigious schemes such as The Mailbox, Matthew Boulton College, the Fort Dunlop building and many industrial and distribution schemes across the UK.
The sign consists of individual aluminium built up letters with halo illumination, internally illuminated by LED bulbs. LED’s were chosen ahead of neon for its power saving & low maintenance characteristics.
Tim Andrews, Managing Director of Hollywood Monster Ltd, commented ‘We were absolutely delighted to work on this high profile project. Much of the day motorists are at a stand still around this area, and therefore it gives Vision the ideal opportunity to generate maximum exposure through our signage’.

Hollywood Monster supports Haiti through Westfield London’s Fashion for Relief Pop Up Shop
Naomi Campbell’s Fashion for Relief event kicked off London Fashion Week at Somerset House with a catwalk show and auction raising money in aid of The White Ribbon Alliance. The charity supports the health needs and rights of women and girls around the world, with special focus on its partners in Haiti at this time, who are helping to rebuild the healthcare system for mothers and babies.
Supporting the Fashion For Relief campaign Westfield London opened a temporary Pop Up Shop for which Hollywood Monster donated the window vinyls. Projections, atmospheric lighting and Fashionista DJ’s all added to creating a space in which charity and fashion meet to make good things happen. Many suppliers got on board to help with the cause and local Fashion Students, QPR footballers and Westfield staff volunteered their time to help promote around the centre all throughout the weekend.
Vivienne Westwood designed a limited edition t-shirt in collaboration with Fashion For Relief in aid of Haiti. The charity t-shirts were sold solely at the pop-up shop until Sunday 21st February, which was opened exclusively by R&B singer Lemar.
Naomi Campbell, Erin O’Connor, Dame Shirley Bassey plus many more celebrities signed the exclusive Vivienne Westwood shirts which retailed for just £40. There were also signed celebrity photos on display in the Vivienne Westwood pop up shop.
Managing Director Tim Andrews commented ‘We are thrilled to be working again with Westfield up and down the country to support their events and make their Shopping Centres stand out with high quality branding and signage solutions. We are very pleased to donate and provide the window graphics for such a good cause’.
Speaking about Hollywood Monster’s contribution, Westfield London’s Marketing Communications Manager Ciara O’Reilly said ‘I want to say thank you so much for your seriously generous donation to our Haiti Pop Up Shop. It looks fantastic and we are really delighted with getting it all together in such a short space of time with lots of help from our friends!’.

HOLLYWOOD MONSTER ANNOUNCES THE INSTALLATION OF A GIANT NEW BANNER ON LONDON’S LARGEST PURPOSE-BUILT HOTEL DEVELOPMENT
Leading Midlands Signage and Graphics Company Hollywood Monster has just completed the installation of a giant 22 x 9 metre Contravision large format window graphic onto the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge London hotel development located on the vibrant South Bank, directly opposite the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben.
The window graphic which can be clearly seen from all approaches took two days to install by an abseiling team and is made up of 44 3 x 1.5 metre one way vision film panels directly applied to the hotel’s glass window atrium frontage.
The banner has been specially manufactured and installed to allow light into the building and a view through the atrium for those viewing the inside of the building, despite the presence of the film panelling.
The new development is set to open in early 2010 and will be London’s largest new-build hotel opening in generations, offering 1,021 guest rooms, 2,700 sq m of meeting space, a signature restaurant and a luxury spa.
Commenting on the window graphic, Simon Mckenzie, Hollywood Monster’s Commercial Director for London and the South East, said: “We are delighted to have been chosen by Park Plaza Hotels to install this giant new window graphic. This is evidence again of the company’s ability to tackle large format, complicated installations on some of the UK’s most prominent buildings.”
Laurence Markham, Marketing Director for Park Plaza Westminster Bridge also commented: “The impact that the window graphic has produced has been significant and surpassed our initial expectations. It’s vital for a hotel development of this scale that we and our partners GC Project Management and Galliard Homes can communicate when it will be opening and the Hollywood Monster window graphic achieves that perfectly”.
Hollywood Monster wins contract to dress Birmingham City Centre
Hollywood Monster has won a 12 month exclusive contract to provide Birmingham City Council with street dressing and theming services. The contract will see the company print and install a wide variety of different signage and media products including :
· Lamp post scroll signs
· Planter boards
· Lamp post flags
· Banners
· Bridge Signs
Due to the complexity of several of the signs involved, such as the lamp post penant flags and motorway bridge signs, road closures will be necessary at times, however these will not cause disruption to traffic and the general public. The contract also features the removal and re-installation of the various signs and media types mentioned according to space being sold by the council and different events being staged. Space on the media types being installed will be used by the Council to promote and support city events, council and government initiatives.
Most recently signs and banners within the city scape were used to promote the City Marathon and Beach Experience in Centenary Square sponsored by Monarch Airlines.
Commenting on the article , MD Tim Andrews said: “The Birmingham City Council dressing contract is something we have been chasing for a while and we are delighted to have been chosen to exclusively provide the council’s ongoing dressing requirements. Our work recently throughout the city erecting hoardings, banners, site boards, vinyl graphics and temporary event graphics has proved our ability to service this contract which we look forward to fulfilling. We are long standing partners of the Council and are delighted to have expanded our relationship even further”.
