Hollywood Monster supports Haiti through Westfield London’s Fashion for Relief Pop Up Shop

1 Mar 2010 | Leave a Comment |

Naomi Campbell’s Fashion for Relief event kicked off London Fashion Week at Somerset House with a catwalk show and auction raising money in aid of The White Ribbon Alliance.  The charity supports the health needs and rights of women and girls around the world, with special focus on its partners in Haiti at this time, who are helping to rebuild the healthcare system for mothers and babies.

Supporting the Fashion For Relief campaign Westfield London opened a temporary Pop Up Shop for which Hollywood Monster donated the window vinyls.  Projections, atmospheric lighting and Fashionista DJ’s all added to creating a space in which charity and fashion meet to make good things happen. Many suppliers got on board to help with the cause and local Fashion Students, QPR footballers and Westfield staff volunteered their time to help promote around the centre all throughout the weekend.

Vivienne Westwood designed a limited edition t-shirt in collaboration with Fashion For Relief in aid of Haiti. The charity t-shirts were sold solely at the pop-up shop until Sunday 21st February, which was opened exclusively by R&B singer Lemar.

Naomi Campbell, Erin O’Connor, Dame Shirley Bassey plus many more celebrities signed the exclusive Vivienne Westwood shirts which retailed for just £40. There were also signed celebrity photos on display in the Vivienne Westwood pop up shop.

Managing Director Tim Andrews commented ‘We are thrilled to be working again with Westfield up and down the country to support their events and make their Shopping Centres stand out with high quality branding and signage solutions.  We are very pleased to donate and provide the window graphics for such a good cause’.

Speaking about Hollywood Monster’s contribution, Westfield London’s Marketing Communications Manager Ciara O’Reilly said ‘I want to say thank you so much for your seriously generous donation to our Haiti Pop Up Shop. It looks fantastic and we are really delighted with getting it all together in such a short space of time with lots of help from our friends!’.

Not a lot of people know but our facility operates 24 hrs a day, 5 days a week

29 Sep 2009 | Leave a Comment |

The merging of Hollywood Signs and Monster Digital back in August presented the company with a number of considerable challenges, one of which was the critical requirement to merge all of the plant and equipment from either company all together and operational under one roof.   This led to a complex consultation about how to best organise and layout the new factory and equipment into the most efficient and productive way.  Testament to the skill and experience of the installation teams and plant engineers the company employs was the fact that just five days after moving in, the factory was declared 100% operational.

The move into one new, consolidated facility brings many advantages and economies of scale to the business.  It enables the 25 strong production team to operate in 30,000 sq ft of open space, able to call upon an impressive array of state of the art signage and digital printing equipment and tools.  Amongst the state of the art UV Digital printing machines available to the team includes :

  • A five metre wide HP Expedio
  • A five metre HP Revolution
  • Vutek QS3200 Flatbed
  • 14 metre Hi Frequency welder

Together with many other leading graphic and flatbed production machines.

Production Manager Mat Jephcott who oversaw the move into the new facility and the commissioning of the print machines, commented : ”The new space this factory now brings to our overall capacity is significant.   To have all of the machines and production resources we had separately at Hollywood and Monster together in one place is excellent.  It enables us to provide a round the clock print and stitch facility that not a lot of other graphics companies can offer”   MD Tim Andrews went on to say : “the final commissioning of the new machines heralded another milestone in the company’s 18 year history, signalling an exciting new era for both companies”

The factory operates 24 hrs a day, 365 days a year and every month outputs an average of 30,000 sq metres of printed signage and media.

Amongst some of the first contracts to roll off the production line included banners and plural to re-brand Birmingham city Football Club throughout the stadium ready for their return to the Premiership, 500 metres of temporary signage to provide a secure perimeter and promote the 2012 Olympic Village development in London, pitchside perimeter signage for Stoke City FC and a 10,000 sq m pvc trade supply order including a seventy five vehicle re-brand exercise for a major building contractor across the UK.

Hollywood Monster takes to the streets of London

1 Apr 2009 | Leave a Comment |

Hollywood Monster Ltd are taking ‘huge steps’ in fundraising this year. Four of our employees are running the London Marathon for the charity Sense International in April.

As non-runners, they are all having to give a great deal of time to their training programme, not to mention a new healthy eating and non-alcohol regime!

The runners, Mat Jephcott, Phil McKenzie, Adam Scott and our Managing Director Tim Andrews are asking if anyone can help them to reach their donation targets.  Any donations would be very gratefully accepted.

Sense is the leading national charity that supports and campaigns for children and adults who are deafblind. Further information can be found at www.sense.org.uk.

We understand that these are difficult times, but would also like to say that every little helps!

Thank you in advance,

The Hollywood Monster Team
