Hollywood Monster have recently completed the installation of over 400 metres of decorative hoardings used to surround part of the giant new Olympic Village development being constructed in Stratford, East London in preparation for the 2012 Olympic Games.

The project was carried out on behalf of Westfield Shopping Towns who are developing the Stratford Shopping Town as part of the Olympic village development, which when completed will eventually be home to 1.9 million sq ft of premium retail and leisure space.  The project is currently the UK’s largest construction site and has already signed up John Lewis, Marks and Spencer, Waitrose and Vue Cinemas as tenants.

Speaking about the project, Commercial Director for London and the South East Simon McKenzie commented : “The construction of the Olympic Village and neighbouring shopping centre is a huge project which is probably Europe’s most high profile development project currently.  We are extremely proud to have been chosen to provide the hoardings on this project which create a high quality and eye catching boundary to the scheme”.

Simon goes on to explain: “This was a complex and challenging installation due to the short lead time provided but its success is once again testament to the superb spirit and flexibility of the workforce.   All 400 metres of hoarding were installed on time within just five days which represents a fantastic team achievement.”

The hoardings were manufactured from Di-bond panels, printed on the company’s VUTEK QS3200 flat bed digital printing machine.  This method of production was chosen due to the high rate of productivity possible and the machine’s high definition, producing a truly stunning end visual.  The panels were then laminated with anti-graffiti film to prolong the life expectancy.

Birmingham based Hollywood Monster are famous for producing decorative hoardings across the UK across several major development schemes, including Cabot Circus in Bristol, Westfield in White City, the Longbridge re-development in Birmingham and Kings Cross in London.
