Hollywood Monster Updates Birmingham Metropolitan College High Level Signage

The former Matthew Boulton College had its high level signage revamped during the Easter holidays. Glimpses of the high level signage can be seen as far away as Small Heath in Birmingham and the ring road around the City.

Hollywood Monster produced the one metre high, built up LED internally illuminated letter signs and supporting rails and installed the high level signage 100ft high above the main entrance to the college.

Access was via a lorry mounted mobile platform weighing in excess of 32 tonnes, with a 30m reach. The installation took three days and included the installation of the new high level signage and the stripping out of the former elevated signage.

The new college is responsible for the teaching of over 27,000 students, between the ages of 16 to 19 and has a combined teaching staff of 1,000 professionals, with the institution offering more than 2,000 qualifications to people across the West Midlands.

Hollywood Monster has produced various signage projects to the campus recently to include digitally printed wallpaper, floor graphics, panatrim frame signs, event signage, stage sets and vinyl graphics.  The company also provided a 5 x 40 metre high banner which was unveiled against a backdrop of fireworks by an abseiling team directly in front of 200 guests including the Lord Mayor of Birmingham – Michael Wilkes, Phil Upton of Radio WM and Britain’s Got Talent winning group, Diversity.

Following the installation, Managing Director Tim Andrews commented: “We are delighted to have been chosen to provide the new signage which further demonstrates our flexibility and our ability to carry out high level and high profile signage solutions”
