Monster Challenge

Signs and graphics specialists Hollywood Monster are settling the age-old argument of boys versus girls this month as it teams up with Birmingham City Football Club to launch the Monster Challenge.

Members of the senior male and female football teams are going head-to-head in a series of tasks that will test their aptitude, creativity sportsmanship and other skills.

The first challenge, saw Blues midfielder Olly Lee and Blues and England star Karen Carney head down to the Masshouse Plaza franchise of Papa John’s to create an original culinary creation on a pizza base that would win over the appetite of Blues fans and the first Monster Challenge point for their team.

Karen took first place in the first challenge with her creation the ‘Karen Con Carney’ which was made available in the Bar 8 Foster’s Fanzone at St. Andrews for the visit of Huddersfield Town on Saturday 15th February.

As of today, 27th February, the girls are currently winning 2-1. Look out for latest round results announced each Sunday. Over the coming weeks, we have football golf, basketball, pancake making and other non football activities lined up, to determine the better sex.

Tim Andrews is managing director of Birmingham-based Hollywood Monster who have supported Birmingham City for many years and currently sponsor the ladies team. He said: “The battle of the sexes has been going on for centuries and we’re excited to be able to support Birmingham’s very own battle royale. May the best man – or woman – win.”

Karen Carney said: “Hollywood Monster have been fantastic supporters of the club over the years and this latest challenge demonstrates their creativity and willingness to help promote the ladies team.”

Andy Walker, head of media and communications at Birmingham City Football Club, said: “We are always looking for ways to cross promote our men’s and women’s sides so we thought what better way than to settle the age old girls v boys debate once and for all. It will be a fun weekly feature and we’ll be looking to get fans involved along the way by encouraging them to tweet their own suggestions for each and every challenge by using the #MonsterChallenge tag.”
