Hollywood Monster banks retail signs at The Tipton & Coseley Building Society

Hollywood Monster, a leading supplier of retail signs, have completed the re-signing of the successful Tipton & Coseley Building Society Headquarters in Tipton.

The premises, 70 Owen Street, Tipton, West Midlands have been re-signed to include a full length facia, two number free standing double sided totems and various wall mounted signs to conform to their new corporate guidelines.

The project was managed every step of the way from initial consultation meetings where the client wanted advise on positioning, size and impact of the proposed new signage, planning consultation through to installation of the retail signs. The signs were designed based on the collection of information, client brief meetings, taking into consideration the planning concerns and restrictions placed by the local planning authority and of course efficient manufacture techniques using the latest materials, paint finishes and components available.

Main Facia

The client felt the existing signage needed to have a much ‘punchier’ impact to the passing public, and the main facia was of no exception to the concern. The old facia was removed replacing with a curved full width, internally illuminated facia. The text elements of the facia are internally illuminated by having push through acrylic graphics. The panels were wet painted to match corporate brand guidelines with cast vinyl decoration.

The client had two totems in existence, however the client again wanted a much punchier solution but also wanted a means of communicating with the public at the touch of a button. A double sided LED display was manufactured and integrated into the new 4m totem.

The project itself was challenging because it required ground works to be carried out within a live footpath and the removal of soil from site, at the same time allowing the public to access the Building Society during opening hours.

The new signs had to be positioned to allow good visibility splay to the motorists at an adjacent road junction but appropriately positioned to jump out at the passing pedestrians and motorists.

Electricity had to be brought out of the building under the paved area along with communication leads from the controlling computer. The LED displays temperature, weather, time and has a facility to communicate offers to the public.

The totem is manufactured from aluminium trays with push through acrylic 3-d letters to illuminate at night. The totem has a steel skeleton fastened down onto holding down bolts cast into a large concrete foundation. The original paving slabs were re-laid around the base of the sign

A second Totem was manufactured and installed but 3m high, again illuminated

Canopy Sign

The Canopy sign is manufactured from aluminium tray, internally illuminated with flush acrylic lettering. The sign is connected to a timer to switch on at dusk

The project was successfully delivered, on time and within budget
