The Hollywood Monster signs in Birmingham’s Santas Grotto

The Hollywood Monster is starring in Santas Grotto at leading retailer House of Fraser’s Birmingham store every Saturday and Sunday upto Christmas. Signs were donated to the grotto by Hollywood Monster to help support the initiative. Hollywood Monster are famous for supplying signs in Birmingham to many of the large retail operators.

House of Fraser will be bringing shoppers and families a ‘Harry Christmas’ this festive season, with the return of its magical Christmas Grotto, which this year is supporting Harry Moseley’s charity, ‘Help Harry Help Others’ to raise funds to help them in their efforts.

The traditional department store grotto will be inviting children to meet Father Christmas and give him their present wishes within the wonderful festive surroundings from Saturday 17 November up until Christmas Eve.

Located on the 5th floor of House of Fraser on Corporation Street, the grotto will be home to a selection of traditional style shop fronts from yesteryear and a wonderful log cabin for Father Christmas and his elves, all handcrafted by the stores own carpenters; together with Rudolf the reindeer, frosty snowmen and festive penguins.

As well as meeting Father Christmas, the £5.00 entry fee includes a quality present for each child, plus the opportunity to send Father Christmas a letter, as well enjoying an array of games and activities within the grotto.  Fifty pence from each entry ticket will be donated to ‘Help Harry Help Others’ and volunteers from the charity will also be on hand, making and selling Harry’s famous bracelets for a suggested minimum donation of £1.00. A free photograph with Santa will be given to every child that is wearing one of Harry’s bracelets and has a grotto ticket.

Georgina Moseley, Harry Moseley’s mum, said: “Harry was such a special boy who wanted nothing more than to help others going through their cancer journeys and to help find a cure for this terrible disease. As a family we miss him more and more each day, but especially during this time of year. Harry loved all things festive, and as a family and a charity we want to make sure that every other family out there can keep on enjoying Christmas together, keep on drawing closer together, and never have to go through the loss that too many families like ours have to go through every day.

“This is such a wonderful time of year for families so please give your kid an extra hug and treat this year by showing them the magic of Christmas and taking them to see Santa, safe in the knowledge that in doing so you are also helping us to help others.”

Retail Birmingham, the city centre’s Business Improvement District, has worked in partnership with House of Fraser to design and create the grotto, which comes as part of the organisation’s on-going work to support retailers and operators in the city centre.

The House of Fraser grotto is a key feature of the city’s Christmas shopping experience and welcomed thousands of visitors throughout November and December last year.

Kathryn Neilson, store manager at House of Fraser Birmingham, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to be working with Retail Birmingham again to deliver the city’s largest Christmas Grotto. The children absolutely loved the magical grotto last year and we look forward to seeing lots of excited little faces again.

“This year we have also partnered with Help Harry Help Others, an extremely worthy charity which has touched so many people. A donation from every ticket sale will go to this amazing cause.”
The House of Fraser grotto will be open from 10am-6pm Monday to Saturday and 11am-5pm on Sundays from 17 November – 16 December. From 17 December – Christmas Eve, the grotto will be open from 10am -7pm Monday to Saturday and 11am-5pm on Sundays.
